Changes!

“Mum, I don’t want to go to another school, I don’t even want to change house,” begged  Paul                                                                            “But we have to, we need a bigger house, there’s 7 of us and in a 3 bedroom,” Mum explained. The next day, instead of playing cricket or football, Paul sat on his bed drawing him getting bullied at his new school. It was what he thought would happen to him in two more day. He looked at the clock and his eyes widened. He thought he was dreaming. He shook his head and he saw that it was 3:00 al ready and he hadn’t even ate luch. It was wierd because Paul wasn’t hungry. Paul was the nice innocent type of boy that always gave what people asked for example his desert and toys. But today wasn’t like that. When his mum asked him to take a stroll throught the park, he replied don’t don’t don’t tell me what to do. His mum was pure shocked. His mum gazed at Paul and walked towards him. He gave his mum a big hug and cried ” I’m really sorry, it’s just that I’ve had dreams about you know, sc – schoo – you know what I mean don’t you?” The two days was as rapid as a buggeti veron. The day had come. Paul had enterd his class and stood at the front at the class. Infront of him he saw 30 pairs of eyes staring at him. the all started talking about him and even pointed at him. He heard many voices say hello what’s your name and ext. The teacher came in and sat at her desk. “Hello everyone. This is a new student, his name is Paul and I want everybody want to make him welcome. I suggest we all take turns to look after Paul.” Paul actually enjoyed his first school day and when he returned home he his mum pondered that his day was obviously awful. “Mum, Guess what, Alex actualy gave £2. I think Toptee Primary school is better than my old I love it here!

Crime Scene Fingerprints

Yesterday in Year 6 we narrowed down our suspect list by using Fingerprints. We went around the classes and took the teachers fingerprints to see if they matched  with the fingerprints that we are going to find on the mug. So to get a little practise beforehand we  practised in class with each other.

When we came back from lunch we went into our topic groups and in the groups we were in partners. Mr Leuzinger showed us how to find our fingerprints and then sent us off into our partners, to practise by ourselves.  The first time we tried was to tip some coco powder to a piece of tacky back. Then we had to press our finger against the coco powder and roll it around a bit. After that we took our finger off and tapped the tacky back on the table lightly to take off the useless coco powder. Then we used a paint brush and tapped lightly over the top to get rid of the excess powder that was left. Finally, we put a piece of sellotape onto the tacky back so we could keep the fingerprint in place. Unfortunately, some people found that a bit difficult so Mr Leuzinger found a different  and easier way. In this new and improved way, the first thing we would do was stick our fingers in coco powder and then dust little of it off. Next, our partner would cut some sellotape and press it on top of our finger. In this way, we could still capture our fingerprint  but in an easier and less complicated way. We had to do both our thumbs, index fingers and middle fingers. Once we had mastered the technique. Some children went round the classes and took all the teachers’ and some T.A.’s fingerprints.

We haven’t gotten the fingerprints off the mug yet but tomorrow in the afternoon we will find them and see if they match any if the ones we found. So teachers and T.A.s beware!

Crime Scene in Year 6!

Year 6 had some very disturbing news this morning. When we all arrived at school to begin a new half term there was a gruesome discovery in the classroom. We arrived to a crime scene. The police had been there and had blocked us all out of the classroom. We weren’t even allowed to enter. Finally, we received permission to enter the classroom. What we found was not pleasant at all!
There was an outline of a body on the floor, a bloody t-shirt, muddy footprints, a burned piece of paper with some broken matches, and a lukewarm cup of tea (and for the record…Mr Leuzinger does not drink tea)! Hmmm…suspicious! Furthermore, Mr Leuzinger’s laptop was stolen (Miss Pattison is not pleased about this at all by the way). A ransom note was even delivered explaining to Miss Pattison that she had to pay £1000 pounds for the safe return of the laptop, or it would be sold on the black market. To make matters worse, the police aren’t even going to investigate this heinous crime!
Well, Year 6 has decided that this is not good enough. Year 6 banded together today, analysed the crime scene, photographed the important evidence, and collected samples. Now we begin the arduous task of analysing all of the evidence and tracking down the culprit.
Stay tuned for information regarding our investigation, and please…if you know anything at all about this crime, contact us on the blog or at the school! And to the person who broke into our classroom…we will NOT pay your ransom. We will hunt you down and have you arrested!
